I know it’s been awhile since I’ve uploaded any videos, but with all the problems we’ve been having, I haven’t wanted to attempt it. Our connection is so flaky that I can’t always connect to our service and if it drops for any reason, than anything I’m connected to freezes my laptop right up. Once our connection is stable again, I’ll start uploading videos, so be prepared for an onslaught. One other thing, we’re currently moving all of our pictures to Flickr, so any pictures not linked to Flickr are not working on the site. It’s going to take me some time to get everything moved over and updated on the blog, so please be patient. If you want to see the latest pictures, click here.

Either way, it’s time I did an update.

Let’s see, what has happened since the last time? Wow, has it really been a month since my last post. I’m really sorry now. I used to be a lot better at this. It seems like I have a lot to catch everyone up on then. First off, Ian twisted his ankle for the first time. My poor little man was doing something he knew he shouldn’t, playing with Toby’s water dish, and after dumping it out on the floor, he attempted to walk through it on our kitchen floor. Needless to say, his head met the floor awfully quickly, but it only shocked and scared him. However, he must have fallen weird because he couldn’t walk. He wanted me to hold him constantly and usually I can set him down and he’ll be fine, but every time I tried, he would scream again and want back up. He was crying for so long that he started to get tired and since he hit his head, I didn’t want him to go to sleep. His behavior really concerned me and I called Jesse to come home early. When Jesse got home, he thought Ian looked fine…and then he had him walk. He couldn’t keep his balance at all. So we did go to the ER and nothing came up on the x-rays, so it wasn’t too serious but we were told to keep him off his feet for a while. Now I have to ask you this, how do you keep a 16 month old off his feet? It wasn’t easy, but somehow I did it for about 24 hours. After that, he figured out it didn’t hurt when he crawled, so he resorted back to that for awhile. Everything is fine now, but he hasn’t played with Toby’s dishes since then.

What else has been going on…oh, he has met a friend in the neighborhood. There’s a four year old two houses done that we finally met up with and the two are having fun playing together. There is a bit of an age difference, but it’s interesting to see them interact. Ian loves hanging out down there; he’ll want to go out front to play and as soon as we’re out there, he’ll go trotting down to their house. I’ve let him go on his own, so I could see where he went and each time he would go right up to their door. To the right house and everything. He sure knows where he wants to go and who he wants to see.

This past weekend, Ian spent it with Grandma M while his bedroom was getting painted. It’s no longer grey, but not a fun blue/green. It’s not completely done yet, I still have to add the border, so there won’t be pictures for awhile yet. We’re going to let the paint dry all week and then I’m going to do the border on Saturday. I’ll try and add pictures of his room that night.

Thinking about this, Ian has been spending a lot of time with his grandparents this month. Just a couple of weeks after Ian twisted his ankle, I sprained his foot, so he went and spent more time with the grandmothers. I think he’s been out of the house for a solid 2 weeks this month. It’s the most time he’s spent away from home over a short period of time that it was weird. Last week, Jesse had a weird work schedule that completely messed with Ian’s schedule, so he was being a little monster, but I’m hoping everything will go back to normally once he gets back and he’s home for awhile again.

Ian is sleeping a lot better now. He goes to bed at 8:30/9pm without any hassle and he’s sleeping until about 8am in the morning. He was getting up between 6am and 6:30am, wanting to be held, but I was always having a hard time getting him back to sleep. As soon as I would bring him into our bed, he would go out like a light and sleep until 8am. So I tried ignoring him one morning. I made sure he was okay, but I listened to his cry and you could hear he was still tired, so I laid in bed until he went back to sleep. He was only up for no more than five minutes and he was out until 8am. I started doing this every morning afterwards, and now he doesn’t even get up at 6am anymore. It’s kind of nice to sleep in until 8am now, but it’s kind of weird too. I haven’t done that in 16 months, so it’s really sleeping in for me.

Something that the boys found when we were packing up the apartment was the joys of playing with the hose. For some reason, Ian loves going outside and playing with the water hose with Jesse. Some times he’ll hook it up to the sprinkler or to the nozzle, but mainly just playing with the water coming out is fine. I don’t get the allure, but he gets the most amazing smiles on his face while he plays. Jesse is always there with him, so it’s something for the two of them to do and it’s become kind of a habit to play with the hose and water the lawn when Jesse gets home. Although, they did come up with a new game that I do not approve up. I haven’t been able to get a lot of videos up, but I do have this one, so I’ll leave you with my not so amusement of this new game.
